Хоть и минуло уж почти полгода, а всё же лучше поздно, чем никогда.

В апреле 2011 года я посетил крупнейшую автовыставку Нидерландов, AutoRAI. Называется она так не только потому, что это действительно рай для автолюбителей, а ещё и потому, что проходит раз в два года в выставочном центре Amsterdam RAI, а его название, в свою очередь, происходит от Rijwiel- en Automobiel Industrie Vereniging («Ассоциация производителей велосипедов и автомобилей», образована аж в 1893 году).

Even though nearly half a year has passed, better late than never.

In April 2011 I visited the largest car exhibition of the Netherlands called AutoRAI. It takes place in the Amsterdam RAI exhibition centre, and its name originates from Rijwiel- en Automobiel Industrie Vereniging ("Bicycle and Automobile Industry Association", founded in 1893).

Как настоящего гика, на любой автовыставке меня больше всего интересуют три вещи: необычные автомобили, электромобили и девушки. Всего этого там было в избытке.

As a true geek, at any automobile exhibition I'm predominantly interested in the following three things: bizarre cars, electric vehicles and girls. All three were in abundance there.

Довольно любопытный концепт гибрида Mercedes-Benz F-CELL Roadster. Его разработали 150 практикантов завода Daimler AG в Sindelfingen примерно за год (подробнее тут).

A quite interesting concept of Mercedes-Benz F-CELL Roadster hybrid. It's been developed by 150 trainees of Daimler AG's Sindelfingen plant in about a year (more details here).

Теперь к электромобилям. Чуть ли не каждый автопроизводитель посчитал своим долгом представить на выставке свой экземпляр.

Let's move to electric vehicles now. Almost every car maker brought either a prototype or a production version.

Девушки присутствовали почти на каждом стенде. Любопытно только, что некоторые фотографировались и позировали очень охотно, а другие сразу же наотрез отказывались. Дальше будут в основном те, которые были не против.

Girls accompanied almost every car maker. It's curious that some of them would easily allow and even pose for taking photos of them, whereas others firmly declined the very idea of it. So the ones who didn't object are below.

Ну и уставшая в конце выставочного дня девушка Shell. Она сказала, что их заставляют носить дурацкие очки «чтобы выглядеть умнее». Без тех очков ей явно лучше:

Это, конечно, далеко не всё, что было представлено. За те четыре часа, что я там провёл (после рабочего дня), всё осмотреть просто нереально, тем более в деталях.

Of course that's far not everything you could see there. In four hours I've spent there (after my work) I could only have a quick glance, not even to mention details.
